Legacy Programs
Joe and Vera Zilber cared deeply about the community and creating opportunity for vulnerable populations to live a full and healthy life. The Foundation has awarded grants to support social service agencies providing access to food, shelter and clothing; mental health and substance abuse treatment programs; healthy child and youth development programs; and family and domestic violence support. It also made significant gifts to establish the Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and to support educational opportunities at Marquette University.
In 2019, the board of directors created our Legacy Program to support a limited number of Milwaukee-based organizations dedicated to issues of special importance to our founders and our board of directors. Requests will be considered by invitation only, and focus on the issues of basic human needs, youth development, and higher education.
