COVID-19 Response

In 2020, the board of directors allocated an additional $3 million to support our current grantees in Milwaukee and Hawaii in dealing with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds were distributed between March 2020 and April 2022.

• 49% of funding helped our current grantees meet emerging needs and sustain operations
• 40% supported one-time emergency grants that helped organizations meet emerging needs and increased demand for services with a priority on
organizations and activities that addressed: housing stability, food security, small business support, economic security, closing the digital divide,
  and grassroots community organizing
• 10% of the funds were pooled with other funders to align resources to increase the capacity of local agencies and programs working on the front lines
  of the pandemic
